Merida is ready to accept the crown and the responsibility as queen. Reluctant, but ready. Her parents are ready to step down and relax and raise their boys. But some of the lord's and their sons are quick to reject. While they can accept a slight break in tradition, there has never been a solo monarch, especially not a Queen! The only way Merida can prove she's up to the task is to do the impossible: mend the rift between the Highlanders and the Berkians. A task that many rulers have failed to do. After all, Stoik the Vast and his father were some of the most stubborn men in history. But perhaps this new Viking Chief will be open to reason. Who knows? After all, she's accomplished more challenging tasks.
A.N.
Just so you know, Merida will be getting a dragon. His name will be Breacan, named after a Norse king from Scottish lore. Breacan will be a Stormcutter. If you are unfamiliar with that dragon, there's a wiki page that has all the info. I'll be using for it. Also, Valka's dragon Cloud Jumper is a Stormcutter.
Also, I love Hiccstrid, but for this fic to work, Hiccup and Astrid cannot be together. So I'm gonna have them be best friends. Personally, I don't think Astrid needs to be paired with a guy, she's a bad-ass warrior and she don't need no man.

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third is the only son of Stoick the Vast, chief of the Hooligan tribe. As his only son, he is next in line for the chiefdom which wouldn't be a problem, if he wasn't a runt. Viking's believe that a name is what strikes fear into your enemies. Hiccup's obviously doesn't. The name is given to those who won't survive their first winter. Those who don't belong, those who will not be any more than a burden. Hiccup isn't an exception to this. I mean, sure he survived his first winter, and the next fifteen. But he caused problems, not on purpose. Things just happened when he was around. First when he was six, and a nearby furnace blew up when he lost his temper. Then when he was eight, nine, eleven. These strange happenings kept occurring, and nothing he did helped. Everything he did, everything he tried had some way of turning back on him. For the longest time he believe that the God's cursed him. I have so much going on in my mind right now and I need time to sought things out, so I'm going on a holiday. Me and Toothless are going to continue the map further than we ever have before.
