Luigi knows he isn't wanted. He knows he isn't important. He has a once evil version of himself trapped in his mind and yet he doesn't serve a purpose. He's contemplated suicide multiple times but, his shadow self convinced him out of it. And everyone knows if you take your own life there's no second chance from a 1-UP mushroom. Mario doesn't know Luigi thinks this way so Luigi doesn't know if Mario would even care if he told him. Finally Luigi is ready to end it, but his shadow self tells him before making this drastic decision, he should tell Mario about it first. Luigi agrees that if Mario cares then he won't go through with it. But why is Mr. L showing concern? Or does he only want Luigi to live so he, himself, can live?
