The year is 4999 AS and Princess Scorpion is awaiting her ninth hatching day with her brothers. When the day finally arrives, treachery strikes her like a sharp blade, changing everything she's been led to believe.

Anger and betrayal threatens to push her off of the edge, blinding her to her own wrong doings until it's too late...but is it really her anger and distrust that's blinding her? Before long the desert kingdom she called home is shaken back into a time of misery and fear through the sudden death of one of her sisters, war is on the horizon as accusations are tossed and alliances are formed.

Tensions are rising, distrust is forming, and blood is spilling along kingdom borders. Forgotten regrets are being unearthed.

All Scorpion wanted to do is protect her family, but how far is she willing to go when the enemy is closer than anyone had ever imagined? With the reluctant help of a kind hearted SkyWing whose senses are as good as her eyes and a NightWing with the ability to hear what is left unsaid, will she be able to solve the mysteries that lurk the palace's dark history?

Or will she fall victim to her family's undoings?
