Hayley and her three older brothers, Justin, Jacob and Jaxon, lived with their father in England. Diagnosed with lung cancer, Hayley's father had been bed-ridden for over three years before his lungs eventually collapsed and he died in his home.

Due to the sudden situation, Hayley's uncle, Jerry, offered to take care of her and her brothers. Having nowhere else to go, the siblings agreed to go and live in their uncle's huge mansion in California.

Upon arriving, her cousins stood, waiting behind the door, eager to live with their cousins, whom they hadn't seen in years.
