This is an entry for the Home Before Dark Contest.
There are many ways to tell the truth. I'm a Type One Diabetic. For me, speaking truth equates standing in the face of discrimination and negativity associated with any incurable disease. We are strong. We are united. Above all else, we seek to spread truths about life with a disease. Because, at the end of the day, besides my needle tips, insulin pens, and countless blood sugar pricks, I am exactly like you: another human.

Vision of Silence

90 parts Ongoing

Amalia Hera-born Amalia Romano-was stolen at the age of three, torn from a life of privilege as the heir to a powerful mafia dynasty. Fourteen years later, her family finds her, but the girl they remember is gone. In her place stands Scarlett, the world's deadliest assassin, a shadow no one suspects-except for two people who know the truth. Now, as Amalia navigates the dangerous world of the Romanos, she must face the family she doesn't trust, rebuild the broken bond with her twin sister, and protect the dark secret of who she's become. But in a world of loyalty and betrayal, will Amalia's hidden identity save her-or destroy her? -------- "You... you're Scarlett," he stammered, his voice barely more than a whisper. "They said... they said you were just a myth." "Funny," I replied, slowly advancing on him, my dagger raised, "I thought the same about fear... until I saw it on the faces of men like you." ---- 🥇Assassin -25/01/25 🥈twinsister -02/02/25 #4 mafiaprincess -02/02/25 #19 family -02/02/25 #23 reunion -02/02/25
