One night, years ago, young Emily Mill was thrown from the orphanage, the result of terrifying the younger children.

She watched as hundreds of ghosts and spirits walk around her, some saying a few words in a greeting.

She never was a normal child. She was born with the ability to see ghosts and spirits. The ghosts told her about the ugly in the world, the pain she couldn't quite see just yet, the freedom of being dead. She gets quite infatuated with the idea of death, doing anything it takes to see it off.
