Ellie has been in a coma for five years, everything she knows is a simulation, created by her brain to keep her alive.
Im the real world, her family struggle to cope with the possibility of losing her, especially after the loss of their other daughter 2 years before Ellie was born.
If Ellie wakes up, she will lose everything she knows, but if she doesn't recover from the coma she could be taken off life support.
