"pinky-promise?" She held up her pinky and wrapped it around his. "I pinky-promise!" At the age of 5, Brinley Brooks and Luke Parker decided it was too clichè when two friends fall in love. It was disgusting (according to Luke). But that's what they thought. Growing up, a lot of things can happen, people can change... can the two of them keep their promise? or will one of them be the reason of their friendship over?

  • When She Fell in Love

This is the story about a girl who fell in love. Not with one, not with two, but three boys. They were her everything, and no matter what, no matter the distance between them, they still never failed to be there for each other. Until the summer following college graduation, when everything changed. Twenty-Three year old Fallon Wynters scored big when she landed the three most lovable and goofy boys as her best friends. There was Danny Cooper; the ladies man, Everett Brooks; the shy guy, and then there was Bennett Dixon, the friend - who was more than a friend, but never acted on it. They met on the playground after Fallon stuck up for Everett. After suffering a week long detention, the boys took her in and treated her like one of the guys, but she didn't mind, because she loved all of them equally, but there was one who always had her heart. They made promises, kept in touch, celebrated accomplishments even from miles away, but Fallon never prepared her heart for the day when Bennett Dixon would let her go or for the moment when she realized her heart belonged to someone else. --------- Written for ONC 2022 Prompt # 89
