Sanditon season 1 ended horribly. With no guarantee of a second season, I have to give Charlotte and Sidney a happy ending. Hopefully we get a second season, but for now this is my interpretation of season 2. There will be an HEA but it's going to take some time to get there.

Charlotte and Alison are invited back to Sanditon to be Lady Denham's companions. When they arrive, Lady Denham quickly puts Charlotte in charge of the rebuild in Sanditon. What Charlotte wasn't expecting was Sidney Parker to show up at every turn. Between Lady Denham, Lady Susan, Georgiana, Mr. Crowe, Lord Babington, and a feisty little sister all working together, they will find their way back to each other.

Sidney, in particular, suffers a great deal and by the time he reappears, he is so altered that he is almost unrecognisable. Charlotte too does not have quite the glamorous, independent adventure she might have hoped for. Like any good soap opera, a few characters get killed off along the way - but don't worry, you won't miss them too much! A broken fairytale... with a happy ending. But Charlotte has always dreamed of a Love Match, and this certainly is not that. This feels like a cold business transaction. As Charlotte is whizzed across ballrooms, she can't help but wish for something more, and she wonders if the thing she has been dreaming of all her life is in the attractive serving boy on her Grandmothers estate, that she can't seem to stay away from. However, the more she gets to know Alexander the more she likes him. It seems Charlotte is to make an impossible choice, both with horrible repercussions.
