Korekiyo Shinguji, a 19-year-old college student. He shares a dorm room with his friend Shuichi Saihara and drinks more cups of iced black coffee than your average Karen does white wine.
And Rantaro Amami, a new barista at the coffee shop Korekiyo visits on his way to college every day. A cheerful 20-year-old and that rooms with his friend Kaito Momota. His favourite drink is an iced caramel mocha, with a double espresso shot.
In short, they're completely opposite. And yet Rantaro's interest peak upon seeing the mysterious mask wearing teen for the first time(wink wink, nudge nudge).

This is shown in his outward appearance, including slightly messy hair, usually a bandaid or two somewhere on his body to cover up a bruise or a gash made by unfriendly hands, and the traditional 2nd year school uniform as opposed to the 3rd, like Shuichi. Shuichi has a best friend named Rantaro Amami, a self-fulfilled prophecy of sorts. His dad was an unsightly character, beating on his mom constantly before being locked in jail. Rantaro is overly protective, inquisitive, and very.. Observant? He seems like an average kid to others, but if you get caught in one of his "stares"- Well.. You're not getting away from it. His light lime green hair is fluffy and well kept, and he wears a 3rd year uniform like his peers. He also has quite a few piercings- Most of which Shuichi was around for. Join these three as they battle with their emotions, questioning themselves every step of the way. Will they have a happy ending, Kokichi and Shuichi becoming Star-Crossed Lovers? Shuichi -when he is a kid- lives with his parents and his uncle in Japan before they had to move to America, where he left his only childhood friend, Kokichi. Years had passed, and ever since he had moved overseas, Kokichi had made some new friends: Maki and Himiko. Their first high school year only started for them, but the murderous group that was once in America named 'The Despairs' had travelled to Japan, and was followed them was none other than the young detectives Shuichi with his non-biological sibling Tsumugi. They both enrolled in the same high school as Kokichi and his friends and things happened. Now how will this go as Shuichi and Kokichi solve things out while Shuichi's on the road to getting the Despairs to justice?
