Her sister Angelina Lila La Mark was born with an unhealthy body she was always so weak since birth and so in her parents eyes only she existed, Serena the opposite of her was as healthy as a goat as described.
So from the moment they were born Serena was all alone.
Her family viewed her as someone who doesn't need their love, attention and care to them the only person who needed that was their little angle Angelina.
Serena didn't need that, they could compensate her dor the lack of love with materialism but the one who really needed them was Angelina.
