Introducing Rembrandt. This isn't just another sad animal story with a happy ending. This is a true story about a real-life dog named "Rembrandt". It is a story of how, with kindness and patience, a once unloved and unwanted dog can become a much-loved and valued family member. This e-book is the first book of a series of animal welfare training aids for parents and teachers - by Luis. The purpose of this series is to teach kids about animal welfare - the role of animal rescues and shelters - and how animals "feel" and have personalities, just like us! This series comes from the heart of a human being that has worked in the animal welfare industry across the world, all of his life. As animal welfare workers sadly we grow used to dealing with people that have no feeling for animals - every single day. Even after decades in the industry - nothing ceases to amaze us. Sometimes it feels as though we are simply a "band-aid" to a never-ending, overwhelming problem. Every day (although it feels rewarding) is a battle - leaving you physically and emotionally drained and exhausted. We learn it is difficult to near impossible to change the behaviour of an adult, who has no feeling towards animals. The key to change is to engage and educate our youth, to shape them to grow up to be human beings that care for our animals. Feel free to send letters to Rembrandt at animmate@outlook.com if you would like to offer feedback or request animal welfare related topics for Rembrandt to address in a story book.
