Some fates are worse than death--survival is one of them. In the two hundred years since humanity left the Earth's surface to live in the sky, life on the ground faded to a myth, a tragic memory from which they severed themselves to survive. They floated above continents turned to sand and lands swallowed by the seas, watched storm after storm rage against their cities and their monuments until they broke apart the last vestiges of civilization in penance for generations of human greed. As a lightning harvester charged with flying her ship into these storms for energy, Raina has seen more of the planet than most. She has spent her entire life soaring above its craters and scars, studying the gaping wounds of human devastation, as she honed her skills and became the youngest captain in storm-chaser history. Her ship has flown for generations. Her skills are unparalleled. But none of that matters the day they go down. ~ Praise for Earth, After: "I'm so not ready for this ending. Chloe is bitten by a vampire while on vacation in Rome, but is saved by The Red Guard who halt the soul-destroying virus in her body. Chloe quickly becomes a part of the elite group of Vampire Hunters who follow the will of the Pope. She is horrified when she learns that there is an agreement between vampires and the Catholic Church. Vampires can kill the poor with reckless disregard with the blessing of the Pope. Not only that, the Church encourages population growth within its cities around the world for vampire consumption in order to protect its own upper ranks and those who support the church financially. As Chloe watches boatloads of refugees hit the shores of Italy, she discovers that she cannot live with the rules set before her and she soon learns that she is not alone. With a little help from some like-minded Red Guards, she sets out to make a difference in the world. 1st place in The Pastel Awards 2019 1st place in The Golden Awards 2019 1st place in The Story Crafters Awards 1st place in The Talent Awards 1st place in The Shiners Awards 1st place in the Ohana Awards 1st place in the Zodiac Awards 1st place in the Necro Awards 1st place in the Choco Awards 1st place in The Phantom Awards 1st place in The Chaos Awards 3 2nd place in The Wicked Awards 2nd place in The Night Time Awards 2nd place in The Rose Awards NaNoWriMo2017 Winner Ranked #212 in Vampire (Feb 1/18) Cover credit @kimuma Kindly reviewed by @majesticawards - please go check them out!
