Clotilde (pronounced "klo-TEELD") is 24, a beautiful young woman, and she absolutely loathes her parents. They're avid history buffs, focused mainly on European history from the dawn of literate civilization in 2700 BCE to the end of the Early Middle Ages around 100 AD. Naming their daughter Clotilde, after the French princess of Burgundy, was their biggest achievement and her worst nightmare.
She lives in an apartment a thousand miles away from her hometown with her friend, Emma, and works at a library a few blocks away. Her nametag says Chloe, and she introduces herself as such in social situations. As an only child, she's subjected to all the love her parents have to give, which is unfortunate for them because she wants nothing to do with them. Well, she wants to do something to them: make them suffer like she's suffered her whole life having to introduce herself, getting called "clit" in the hallways at school and legally erasing every trace of Clotilde from her life after she turned 18.
