This book is about a university student named Layla Bryant who moved across the country to London away from Chicago, in look for a new chapter and an escape from her past. Little did she know what was in store for her when she got to London and met Tristan Scott. Layla had always been closed off from the world, she felt like she wouldn't get hurt if she didn't let people in. Tristan was the one person who made her feel something. Tristan Scott was a cold hearted person. He wasn't always this way until his baby sister (Bella) passed away. He blamed himself for it. When he lost his baby sister he lost his parents emotionally. He felt that he didn't deserve to be happy until Layla changed his whole life.

Alyssa is a 19 year old college student and has a clear planned out future. But as she begins to attend NYU, her life is no longer perfectly scheduled. She meets the beautiful disaster that is Aiden Carter and as vast a her vocabulary is, no word seems to describe him. Aiden is a walking and breathing disaster who wriggles himself into ally's life. Changing all of her plans. changing who she is Secrets will be uncovered, innocence will be lost, hearts will be broken, and rough pasts will come to present. Only time will tell what other messes will come of Alyssa and Aiden meeting. But one thing to be sure of is things are never what they seem. Can't judge a book by its cover, a lesson that both Alyssa and Aiden must learn.
