Atina and Adelaide are best friends since college also roommates , on one of London's ordinary nights (in the beginning) they went out to watch a play in the theatre near their home, but the whole night takes a different turn when the actor in the first scene of the play doesn't play his part..because he's obviously dead. Adelaide sees that this is a chance to make her and her best friend's dream come true. To help reveal the mystery of the crime before anyone from the police will, so they can become the first detective women in history.

'The night was alive with silence. I moved through it like a shadow, black leather gloves tight on my hands, boots soft against the grass. Every detail mattered: the flicker of light across the curtains, the faint rustle of movement inside, the way a shadow shifted across the floor. She was there. Oblivious.
