He shifts the conversation, as I nurse the drink, he bought for me.

Keep it professional. I could tell he was slightly drunk; he slurred his words a little. He leaned forward when he spoke, I guess so I could hear him better. I could smell the alcohol on his breath along with another intoxicating scent. His cologne maybe? Whatever it was, it was blessing my nostrils."
