After WWIII the world was never the same. Every two years a major event sweeps over Arcadia. With the human population still lacking over forty years after the war, the Nuptial Trials began. Those who partake are between the ages 18-28 and mostly from the higher ups in the society. However, there is a lottery for those from the undesirables. This allows for new blood to enter the higher ups and to give hope to the undesirables that they too may someday marry into wealth. Charlotte "Lottie" Mullins is a third generation undesirable at the age of 21 she has no aspiration to marry and have children. Working several jobs and living with her mother and four younger siblings. Lottie faces another lottery and has to face her greatest fear The Nuptials Trials is a futuristic story on a estranged government and a society norm that would not be accepted in our current society.
