One fateful day, while attending the annual Dragon Safe Arena, where dragons are brought to be killed for sport and fear, something extraordinary happens. A black dragon, larger and more majestic than any Torin has ever seen, enters the arena. The crowd erupts in excitement, but Torin feels an unexpected connection. The dragon's eyes lock onto his, and in that moment, he hears a voice-not in his ears, but in his mind. The dragon speaks to him, its words clear, yet impossible: "I see you, young one. You do not belong here."
In a shock of realization, Torin understands the dragon's plea. No one else can hear it, no one else can understand the words-but Torin can. At that moment, everything changes.
