The summer in Wadena is a very emotional book. Filled with confusion and mysteries. Laughter and crying. Wadena was a small town located in Texas. But ain't nobody knew about us. People barely came here and we liked it that way. A quiet town where all you needed was right in front of you. Life was great. The summer was coming and I was about to have the best adventures. See I had everything planned out that I didn't see it when it was coming. How could a quiet little town be shaken by someone? And how was that someone a teenage boy?

Summers are supposed to be that time of the year that you should look forward to. No school, hours at the beach, late night parties. What's not to love? Three words. My neighbor's grandson. For once in her life, Maliah Arias is looking forward to her summer. It's the summer before senior year and life couldn't be better. She has a hot college boyfriend, plenty of Dl soccer scholarship offers, and she just went through a massive glow up. To make matters better, her neighbor's annoying yet very hot grandson, Jackson Cruz, who usually visits every summer, is away in Europe. When circumstances change, Maliah finds herself once again in the presence of Jackson, who seems hell-bent on making her life miserable. Although as time passes, the two of them find themselves growing closer and closer, whether they like it or not. Tears are shed, hearts are broken, and Maliah finds herself wondering if she'll be able to survive the summer and make it to senior year.
