"You know what's sad? What's sad is that if you told me right now that you want a second chance, I'd take you back without missing a beat." I face him but the look he's giving me is making it hard for me to continue so I turn around, glare at a tree in the distance, and carry on, "but that wouldn't mean a single thing to you, would it?" I confess. I take a seat on of the chairs in the gazebo and avoid any eye contact with Lyle as I stare at my nude heel clad feet.

How did I get myself in this mess? I shake my head a bit. Turning my gaze away from my feet, I decide to have a stare down with the wooden floor. Lyle takes a step towards me and reaches for me but I flinch back. I don't need his pity, what I need is to get out of here. Fast.

Without a second glance, I run out of the gazebo and into the pouring rain leaving a dumbstruck Lyle behind.
