     In a mystical place governed by the elements of nature, where magic runs freely through the veins of its inhabitants, Amber Menora leads a royally happy life with the people she cares for. 

     However, being the child of the leader of the magical department comes with a price, especially if the daughter herself lacks any inborn magic. 

      Double the price (spiced up with the constant scrutiny and pitiful looks that trail Amber wherever she goes) when terrible monsters attack  her homeland--threatening to ruin the integrity amongst all the realms. Things worsen up even more when the gods of Olympus come seeking for help, suggesting a stir in the sands of evil. 
   
       With chaos ensuing, Amber and her friends embark on an unforgettable journey filled with twists, turns, traps, talking swords, winged zebras, two humans from a realm called Earth (sounds familiar?)-- and, of course, sparkly magic!


   What do Amber's dreams and the mysterious charmer in them, signify?
Where does the labyrinthine path of their quest eventually lead them to?  
  Can "trust" be as easy as it was before?

As he is introduced to more and more of the crew, he finds that maybe, Pirates aren't as bad as he thought, and maybe the captain isn't as scary as he seems. He begins to settle into the ship, finding friendship and freedom. But when his sister is kidnapped by Redcoats for her blessing, he must take action and save her along with his new friends. But Phoenix will soon find out there is more to himself, the captain, and this story, than it seems. - - - This is the first draft of my novel, which took about a year to write. Based off a prompt on Tumblr: "I want a superhero series where they have powers that 100% contradict their personalities". Molly grew up as a fisherman's daughter in a village by the ocean, so naturally, it was a surprise to her and those around her when she acquired fire powers. Everyone around her had some sort of magic, but they all were compatible with who they were. Molly's mother had died in a fire for Aglea's sake! (Note: Aglea is a goddess who's name just happens to resemble a Greek goddess. They're very different.) Jax was the son of a rich blacksmith, who shocked everyone by developing water powers, and strong ones at that. When the two meet, they go on a journey to save Molly's village from a witch who wants their magic for her own. If they can't stop her, her icy grip will smother the world. Will something other than friendship develop over this trip? Only time will tell. (I don't own the cover image if you know who it belongs to, tell me so I can credit them. Also, you have no idea how tempting it was to put Fire Boy and Water Girl as the cover. I mean, reversed genders, but still.) Some of the magic bits are heavily based off of ATLA.
