The Child King, ruler of the Twin Moon System, has executed the Cardinal Representative. The Arch Bishop's response; immediate excommunication. The knights, their squires, and a Scath assassin have been sent to deal with the Child Kings blasphemy. 

In preparation for the inevitable assault on his legitimate rule the Child King has named himself Head of the Church and violated the orders of the Pontiff.
