After a decade of investment in a certain project of his and nothing to show for it, the man had began to give up hope. Immortality was still as far away as ever, and his ill-gotten gains had served no purpose as of yet. One day however, while he was going over his researcher's records in the lab, a tiny little wormhole appeared in front of him, rapidly shrinking from 3 meters in size down to nothingness. With little time to think about how this was even possible, and having nearly lost all hope on his current project on Earth, the man made the unthinkable decision.
