Three years after Nova Lonsdale's father ran away from home and her mother sends her off to work with her nasty uncle Slug in downtown Vancouver, the 18-year-old lives a perfectly normal city life with a massive dream of becoming a powerful artist. But soon her life turns upside-down when she is rejected from the college of her dreams and the elusive Blade, a dark, shadowy man enters the convenience store where she works and pulls her in to a layered multi-universe located right in the heart of her city.

She banked everything on her acceptance to her dream art school, and thought her life was over, but through a harrowing and spiraling adventure down the rabbit hole, Nova comes to realize there was far more waiting for her and her potential. Does she find the truth of her father's disappearance? Does she come to realize she has powers far more capable than she ever thought possible and become the only one who save her city from an impending disaster?
