Nellie and Chandler live in New York along with their friends Joey, Rachel, Monica, Ross, and Phoebe. They are best friends, at least for now.

Chandler has loved Nellie since they first met three years ago. They have gotten so close over the years they've known each other that Nellie considers him to be a big brother figure while Chandler aspires for them to have a future with one another. Everyone knows Chandler is in love with her, everyone but Nellie.  Nellie comes from a dark past that none of her friends know about. She is still struggling to come to terms with much of the trauma she faced as a child and is learning what it is like to really be loved.
