Would you ever trust someone that could change their face to rob the identity of whomever they pleased? Someone who could manipulate any person they wanted whenever they desired?
Well the people of Grendel aren't even given the decision to trust or shun shape-shifters, for few even know they exist. And that is due to the fact that Shifters can blend just as easily into society as any other being can, sometimes even better.
It's Von's membership of this dwindling race that has so far allowed him to avoid getting caught in his plan to manipulate two prestigious criminal organizations against eachother. However, the further his plan proceeds successfully, the more difficult it becomes for Von to conceal his true identity. A secret, that if discovered, would only grant Von and his sister an immediate death sentence.
