It was an explosion that changed it all. Once they were all human, all normal. But not anymore. Nobody is safe, nobody can be trusted. Nobody can escape...or can they?
Callie Woods is awoken after her parents' laboratory explodes in an otherwise fatal security failure. She doesn't remember much, only fragments of her past that come up whenever they please. She doesn't know who to trust, whose words to believe. All she knows is she wants to get out of this place. But what if someone- many someones- tried stopping her?

(NOTE: Everything up until Chapter 5 has been rewritten. What you're reading are the rewrites, and every other chapter following were written within the span of 2019-2020. This is the last time that I will be publicly posting rewrites, either until the entire story is complete or, fingers crossed, I find a publication office. To everyone who reads this despite, thank you so much. And to everyone who has already read this in the past; thank you as well. When she was sixteen, both of her parents were killed while on a mission. She has a goal to complete that mission for them. She knows it's very dangerous, but she just has to. When she ends up at the same hotel the famous duo Jack and Jack (unknown to her) are at, they are in the wrong place at the wrong time and get caught in the middle of the chaos. Lexi has to find a way to complete the hardest, most emotional mission of her life whilst keeping the boys out of harm's way. Young love is cruel. (She'd rather die than admit that of course) Old life brings the problem of boys, unwanted advances, homework, teachers and of course, a boyfriend with she had a rather uncharacteristic meet-up. Scott, Sed, Andy are her childhood friends all the way with her in this. Almost all the way.
