When sixteen-year-old Renée Morgan pulls herself free from the wreckage of her best friend's car, she never imagined the world she would wake up in. Her home burned, the poeple dead or vacant, she finds herself very alone and living on the edge of survival in a world she barely understands. 

But the day she meets Seth, the man who lurks in a mask and armed only with a device that never stops clicking, Renée is ripped away from everything she knows. And, along the way, this new world begins to show her just how cruel it can be.
