"I never set any expectations," she shrugged. "They're good for nothing."
He took a quick look at her, wanting to hear more and then focused back on the road.
"If something good happens," she continued. "Then I'll be happy. If nothing happens then I won't be disappointed, because you can't be disappointed when you didn't expect anything."
"I like the way you think," he said, smiling and she remembered why she liked him so much. He appreciated her for all the right reasons.
"I was lucky to have certain people in my life that helped me open up my mind."
"Perhaps," he said. "But I think the people that have you in their lives are the lucky ones."
She laughed lightly. "Some would agree. Some would beg to differ."
"Then the latter don't deserve you."
