Poe has spent his whole life trying to get away. When his mother passed away 9 years ago, he was left with his abusive addict father. His father comes home drunk every night and couldn't care less about his son. The only help Poe gets is from his best friend, Jessika Pava, and her family. They helped raise him as best as they possibly could, and he couldn't be more grateful. When Poe turned eighteen the summer before his senior year, he and Jess were able to buy an apartment a couple blocks away from the home he grew up in. Jess has been by his side from day one, but moving away from her after graduation might be the hardest goodbye he's ever had to say.

Finn's life has been miserable from the day he walked into his middle school 6 years ago. The bullying, the depression, the cuts on his wrist; they never went away. As an openly bi person of color, Finn expected middle school to be a rough journey, but he wasn't prepared for the years ahead of him. When he stepped into the large public middle school to start his first day of sixth grade, everything immediately started rolling downhill. He was jumped, beaten, and verbally harassed every day. He would just shrug away the pain and move on. When his senior year rolls around, Finn finally has the chance to start new and leave the past behind.

When two misfits happen to be introduced to each other, their lives are suddenly struck with an unknown feeling: love.
