The story is about Keefe, a 16 year old boy who lives in a snowy post apocalyptic earth. Keefe's life is changed forever when he is chosen to be the protector of an alien princess named Zinnia. Though Keefe is taken aback by the cute princess and the urgant need to protect her. He also struggles with the fact that his kind and somewhat misfit "family" maybe forced into protecting the princess also. And in doing so they could start a war with a whole tribe of aliens that go by the name Lotus People.
