Tirik na tirik ang araw at heto ako't nag-aabang ng masasakyan pauwi. Galing akong eskwelahan. Kakatapos lang ng paggawa namin ng chapter 1 sa thesis.

Pinara ko agad yung susunod na jeep at sumakay. Medyo puno at masikip kaya ramdam ko ang nanlalagkit na braso ng babaeng katabi ko.

"Bayad nga po"

Napansin kong malapit na kami sa bayan. Tumingin na lang ako sa bintana at pinagmasdan ang mga nadadaanan. Pagdaan ng jeep sa arko ng bayan ay tila nag-iba ang paligid. 

Ang tahimik. Hindi ko marinig ang mga sasakyan tulad kanina. Kung tutuusin ay itong jeep lang ang nasa kalsada. Nawala ang palengke. Puro puno at kabahayan lang ang makikita. Yung kalsada isang diretso lang at nawala ang daan paliko sa kabilang barangay.

Napahinto bigla ang sinasakyan naming jeep. Mukhang napansin din ata ni manong. Napa-angat ng tingin yung dalawa kong kasama habang tulog pa din yung nasa harapan. Pumikit na lang ako.
