Lucas never meant to stay in school two hours after football practice. He wanted to hop into his car and drive home.

He was glad he didn't.

Staying hours after school wasn't exactly new to Venice. She couldn't leave right after school due to the vicious predators that surrounded the premises searching for their prey.

She should have seen it coming when the school's jocks cornered her in the back of the school and began to beat her.

She didn't, however, expect for Lucas McKenna, captain of the football team, heartthrob, Mr. Popular, to save her life.
