We're Alive: The story of a lost soul

In this story, Michael Cross, Saul Tink, and Angel Tunundo happen to come across a large mysterious male that seems to zone in on michael as soon as he opens his eyes. This man follows michael to the ends of the earth, or so tries to, and does everything he can to keep his man happy and safe. But.... why does he have scars and tattoos on his arms and chest? and why do they look like the marks on some of the scarier zombies or creatures they come across?
