This story is one about the complicated politics of Ancient Rome intertwined with the complicated matters of two patrician families preparing to be united in an advantageous marriage between 17 year old Lucia Domitia Pulchra and 23 year old Marcus Severus Junius. The two are similar and different in many ways and struggle to appease their families expectations and their duties as citizens of Rome. With a harsh and stern Praetor of the Senate for a father in-law expecting a grandson for Junius to deal with and an pretentious and seemingly unforgiving sister in-law for Pulchra to deal with, the two struggle but are determined to navigate through married life and the hard times Rome is faced with together. This is historical fiction dedicated to historical accuracy and romance dedicated to entertaining the reader. Hopefully you will fall in love with these original characters as I have creating them.
