Kate lives a life of reckless adventure. Pills, parties, sugar daddies, money, friends, alcohol. The best part is, no one's around to stop her. She's free; she has the life destined for the ultimate American teenage dream.
Her life careens as her memorable escapades slowly drag her down a rabbit hole she thought people only dreamt up in their worst of nightmares. A striving for the ideal body falls from her control, gaining a life of its own. The pills, booze, and money paves the way to conspiracies so deep, the only way out is further in. As everything brings her further down the rabbit hole, things take a sinister turn. After all, death has a way of turning the luxury life of partying into a hell deeper than anyone could have foreseen.
There's only one thing left to do: keep the secret chained, and run.
Above all, remember the unwritten rule: don't snitch, and don't get caught.
Trigger Warning: includes drug use, explicit language, escorts, partying, self harm, eating disorders, death, depression and suicidality, and all kinds of dangerous situations. Violence may be included. Sexual violence, if mentioned, will not be explicit or glorified.

16 year old Harley Jenson has never had an easy life. With an alcoholic, drug addicted, abusive father; a mother who couldn't be bothered to pay attention because she was always too focused on Harley's 5 year old twin brother and sister; no friends, no one to confide in, no one to trust. Now, her defences will gradually become less and less efficient. What will she do when the clothes and makeup can no longer hide the evidence? What about when people start trying to force their way in, despite her pushing them back? And how about when she gets forced to talk? All her years of carefully hiding herself in the background, staying in the shadows so no one would give her a second glance, are all being threatened. Kate was used to dealing with unfair consequences. Having a less than ideal home life and no one else to support her, she had learned to deal with things on her own. She had learned not to feel and especially not to hope. So when someone new comes into her life Kate does the best thing she can think of, she shuts them out. But, after a series of events in the course of one day, they are thrown back together, and Kate is given the chance to explain herself. Explain why she was so guarded and why she had closed herself off in the first place. And maybe along the way Kate learns that things aren't always so bad.
