This story follows the life of a young woman named Abigail whose world is heavily affected and changed after she meets beings known as kalman väki, meaning "death folk", a type of spirit in Finnish folklore. Abigail struggles with herself as she tries to discover the nature and reality of those she meets along her path and faces the truths and lies of life and death and what lies beyond.

Some characters and storylines are influenced by real people in the author's life. Permission has been given by those people. Any likeness to other characters or people is coincidental and unintentional. All characters are copyright by the author and those involved in the creation of the characters and storyline.
