Naomi werkt als 'nanny' voor een groot bedrijf dat helpt met het proper houden en zorgen voor de kinderen van rijke mensen die vaak geen tijd hebben. Op een dag wordt ze ontslagen omdat haar werkgever haar beschuldigd van diefstal terwijl dit helemaal niet klopt.
Zonder geld dus zonder inkomsten moet Naomi zich proberen te redden in het dure Los Angeles. Wanneer ze overdag het 'Eastern Colombia Building' binnen gaat om het te bezoeken komt ze Johnny Depp tegen. Vanaf de eerste ontmoeting kunnen ze elkaar niet uit hun hoofd zetten...
