Ellie Rendale had a near perfect life in Long Beach, California, yet after a leisured vacation, her family decides to move to the Outer Banks. Amongst the other Kooks, Ellie is nearly forced to get along with them, not understanding the true reason why. After crossing paths with John B and Sarah, who the entire town presumed to be deceased, she teams up with them in a mission to find the lost gold. Soon after, she meets the Pogues, eager to find out more about the blonde, mischievous boy who has taken a fond liking in her. Falling under the influence of the mysterious boy, she soon discovers the truth-her truth.
