A daughter of a sailor gets word of the Edmund Fitzgerald, which leads to her finding out her father is sailing on it, and most importantly, she will have to go on it too. Her guess of the time on the ship be her in her cabin, adding entries in her diary, and being by the water. While most of that is true, it's different than she thought.

Anahita is a very energetic lake-mermaid and an explorer. People around her think the sea can be predictable, but no one can predict Anahita can strict a deal. That's when she proves them wrong in the worst lake. Plus, she even has a good sea reader, Isla the turtle. The shy younger sister can make a word for herself when she's friends a bubbly girl like Anahita. And Isla can make another word for herself too.
