The crown prince does not choose a knight through the trials, everyone in Pritchard knows this. The annual tournament is just a demonstration. A means to claim a name through one's ability to wield a sword, and this is what Jimin precisely wants. Born into unfortunate circumstances and left orphan at a young age, he struggled through his entire life, misfortune upon misfortune; and he yearns for nothing more than to prove himself worthy.

On the other end of the equilibrium is prince Taehyung, a wounded bird in a golden cage, distanced from everything and everyone. With each passing day life becomes harder as he struggles to keep his life in this castle that provides him no protection. The only thing more exhausted than his body is his soul, drowned in guilt and loneliness.

No one is chosen through the trials, but when gold meets sapphire, through one momentary glance, everything changes.
