"They say that somewhere, distance unknown, your soulmate is watching the same stars as you are. Looking up into the sky, I see the moon and stars as nothing more than big balls of gas and stone and fire. What could they know of love? What could they know of heartbreak? What could they possibly know of giving someone your all and it not being enough? I know that feeling far too well. For the past year and a half, I have been stuck in an abusive, toxic relationship. A relationship that, at one point, made me give up on everything. No hope, I deserve this, no way out, this is the end. But it wasn't the end, and here I am now. I may be wounded, but I am finding hope in the small things in life. And although I no longer believe in soulmates, I do appreciate the stars and all of their indifference."
