They make-up the 97% of the 10,000 counted citizens. The lowers are criminals and children born to un-paired parents. They live separated from the middles and Upper. In lowers you work in water reclamation or in one of the fish farms that supply protein to the ship. In the year 2149 Dylan De Rovia is trying to wrap her head around the idea that in two year's she'll be paired. That they call marriage on the Ark. Pairing is good most who are paired do end-up staying together because while genetics play good part in determining a match so does personality. Some people choose to use spend this time having a good time with as many partners as possible. Dylan however, vowed that she would never fall in love with anyone before pairing. The universe had other plans however, when Dylan learns that she'll pair with an Upper named Kyive Sinclar life gets more complicated than ever. Falling in love is hard enough falling in love in space that the story.

**COMPLETED*** This is book 2 and can be read as a standalone but I recommend you read "Fated" first. Something caught my eye and when I looked up in the mirror I saw Rykan stepping inside, shutting the door and sliding the lock in place. My heart hammered in my chest as he approached me. He came right up behind me, setting his hands on my hips, never breaking our gaze through the mirror. "Kora," he murmured, stepping closer until my back brushed against his chest. His hand slid down to the end of my skirt and he flattened his palm against my bare leg, sliding his hand up my skirt. "Hm," he grunted, narrowing his eyes as he continued his ascension up my outer thigh. His touch sent tingles all over my body, sending heat right between my legs. He gripped my leg and suddenly turned me, his hand now palming my ass as he pulled me against him, his teeth scraping against my neck as his other hand up to my neck. "Didn't seem to bother you when you had me down your throat last night," he said, wrapping his hand around my throat and lifting his head to give me one of those heart-stopping stares. The ancient Egyptians referred to it as "ka," and the ancient Greeks as "pneuma." In Africa, it's known as "ashe" and in Hawaii as "mana." Qi, Prana, Ki, call it what you will, this energy is the life force itself.
