Zelma is dying. When Petra was shattered by an asteroid 12 years ago, the ultravoliet light from the sun was magnified through the glass innards of the moon, causing everything living on Zelma to burn when it entered the light. The light became known as "Last Light" to the Zantonians. Kayla has been living in the Cenella forest alone since her mom died, that is until the forest leads her to Benden Marlis, a biologist for the Palace, from whom she learns that the rest of Zelma is dying, and her forest might be next. Well the two of them be enough to figure out how to stop the Last Light or will Kayla's broken past keep getting in the way?

It's bad enough she's trapped with no way home in such a dangerous place, but when she comes across signs of a monster lurking somewhere on this uncharted isle, she comes to find that the worst of her nightmares have only just begun. because the thing that's been stalking her from the shadows as fangs and scales just like the creatures she fears the most, with intentions of keeping her trapped with it on the isle.
