Liam Monami is a socially anxious teen who has dealt with bullying all of his three previous years of high school, and he expects his senior year to be no different. Most of his bullying centers around the fact that he is a short, nerdy, and slightly effeminate man-- which promised him certain death in his conservative small town of Jolie, Texas.
Kyle Manchester on the other hand has always been beloved by the people of the school. It's not because he's incredibly nice or anything like that, rather it's because he's hot. If he had been born with a less attractive appearance, his frequent class cutting and smoking on the campus would not be as looked over as they are. Every boy in the school wants to be him, and every girl in the school wants to be with him. Liam would like to be able to do both.
These two polar opposites have never had any interaction with one another besides fleeting glances in the school's crowded halls and loud classrooms. But when their music teacher partners them up for a song composition project, the two boys will end up getting more out of their partnership than they had planned.
