The war between humanity and the Grimm had entered a period of uneasy calm in recent years. Alistair Academy continued training new Huntsmen and Huntresses, knowing the threat was still real. As a new term began, students and teachers knew uneasy times were returning.

Within Alistair's walls, trainees honed skills to face the Grimm. Someday they may fight together against the creatures of darkness. Penultimately, only eight from each new batch of students would join an elite group called "The Collective". This league was comprised of the most talented and promising Huntsmen, chosen to safeguard humanity on the front lines of battle with the Grimm forces. It as the highest position any defender could attain.

The new term barely started when signs said the Grimm also stirred again, evolving into an unseen threat. Dangers appeared inside and outside Academy walls, questioning loyalties. Some desperate souls seemed poised to endanger others through choices made under fear or ambition.

This year's class would be tested on combat skill and character more than ever. They must strengthen wisdom, empathy and resolve against foreign and domestic threats. Hard truths about allies may emerge. Their success determined not just individual fates, but how well the kingdom withstood challenges from without...and within.
