It's the start of a brand new life for sixteen hopeful students attending Hope's Peak Academy. Everyone knows that only those who are the best at what they do can attend this school, and graduating from this prestigious institution guarantees the success of anyone who continued to develop their talent at the academy. What these students don't know however, is that Hope's Peak is no longer the beacon of hope that it once was. Here, there is a new subject that these unfortunate students will soon learn all about: Despair. As the killings begin, and students begin to fall one by one, it soon becomes evident that everything is not what it seems while the world of the Ultimate Analyst, Ryõko Otonashi, crumbles around her.
