Sooo this was originally my entry for the 2019 Commonwealth Essay Competition that I participated in as part of school. There was a 1,500-word limit as part of the competition's rules, but I've since edited it to my liking. It really isn't my favorite piece of work because of both the word and the topic limitations that I had to work within, so please don't expect much. That being said, hope you enjoy it :) and feel free to comment and give as much feedback and criticism as you like.

SECOND DRAFT: Hard Bank Left
I am republishing this for a friend who wanted to read a sample of my work. The plot is all over the place, but I know I'll revisit it in future. I initially wrote this in 2017 before I knew a lot of things I know now. There's a lot in here that is culturally insensitive. I have done my best to edit out what I could find at first glance, but if you see something glaringly offensive please make a comment about it so that I can correct my errors. The most egregious example that comes to mind is using the G-word for the Romani and relying on unflattering stereotypes. I plan to correct a lot of this in proceeding drafts. My Past Mate Rejected Me
"You rejected me!! Not the other way around!!" I yelled at him, tears streaming down my face. "I know." He says, he head hangs low. "And I'm sorry. I should never have rejected you." He went to take my hands into his but I turned away from him. Tears were still going down my face. How could he, after all this time, have the nerve to come here. He knew that he had hurt me. Now he is sorry and wants me back? No. "Please. Believe me. I messed up big time! I didn't know what I had until it was gone!" He said. I heard every word. They cut through the wall of my heart and placed themselves on it . It hurt. But what he did to me had hurt even more. "That's right. You screwed up. Consider me lost." I said. Hearing the sound I let my head fall back watching the darkening sky as soon the air is filled with hundreds of howls mourning their late Alpha and sending their empathy to their late Luna's suffering. Listening my eyes close as the wind blows, listening to the beautiful melancholy of the pack's song. "I always find this type of howl the most beautiful." Over the Wall: A Collection of Short Stories (NaNoWriMo 2014)
This year for NaNoWriMo, I am writing a short story anthology. It will feature thirty or so short stories (my hope is to write one per day to fulfill my 1,667 per day word requirement) about varying things. Each morning, I will randomly select a number between one and thirty and I will look at the corresponding list of first lines I will have. I will take that line and write a short story using it and then the next day I will do the process over again (some stories might relate to each other, some might not). Anyway I will edit the story for that day and post it here. It may not be posted exactly on the corresponding day, but in the end there will be thirty short stories. P.S. Although these are somewhat edited they are still rough drafts so please treat them as such.Complete
Rejected Flame Wolf
Hunter Anther was like an open book, he'd never been afraid to be his true self. Especially his sexuality. However not everything is for everyone. Being born to the one of the largest pack to ever exist, he wasn't accepted. Everyone hated him and often bullied him, even his family. He'd hoped that after meeting his mate, regardless of gender he would finally find peace and happiness. But the moon goddess truly wasn't fond of him because in addition to being an outcast, he wasn't blessed with a wolf. What happens when his future Alpha, aka biggest bully and former friend turns out to be his mate. Will he accept and care for him or make him lose the last bit of hope he had? Like a saying goes 'The grass isn't always green on the other side.' *** "I didn't mean it.. I.. I was young and ignorant..." he tried to explain while clenching my hand, I looked at him in disgust and pulled my hand away. "What about me? How old wad I to deserve all the things you did to me?! Tell me, how was I different from you? Four years ago you rejected me after everything you've done to me. It wasn't enough punishment for you, you didn't even spare me a glance after ruining me. You left me, you are not gay." My voice trembled bit at the end but my face remained as emotionless as ever. I will never give him the satisfaction of seeing me vulnerable, not again. But why does my heart feel like it's bleeding? Shouldn't I be hating him and happy that he's on his knees begging me. Miracle -COMPLETED
--So much on this earth is a miracle. But we fail to see them -- Two friends. One ceremony. One terrible accident. When Jade ended up with something life changing, she thought everything was over for her. And maybe it was. Someone can light a small flame of hope in everyone of us. But sometimes it turns into an inferno and burns us all. I had to write this for a school project and my friend said it was pretty good, so now I'm just "Jesus take the wheel" I got inspired by Disney's "Encanto", but the storyline and the characters are made by me.
