Ember has decided to pack up her life and move across the country to Aspen, Colorado. Originally from a small town in Pennsylvania, Ember desperately needed a change in scenery. Ember's childhood wasn't exactly "normal". She has been through things that most kids never have to worry about. Finding a job and becoming friends with her roommate, Ember starts to feel a sense of home, for the first time in her life. Ember ends up meeting, Jace, a personal trainer who makes her feel alive and safe. Jace sparks feelings into Ember that makes it hard to stay away from him. Especially since he doesn't seem to want to let her go, no matter how hard Ember tries to keep her distance. These feelings of safety is definitely one of the most important things to Ember, especially when her past slowly creeps its way into her new life. Will Ember decide to succumb to her feelings and stay with Jace? Will Jace be able to protect Ember from the horrors of her past? Will Ember be strong enough to get through it all?

I felt the bed dip as he sat down on the other side but I focused solely on my task until I was done. "This is a pillow barrier. Meaning, you don't breach this side of the pillows." I instructed, my voice firm. "What if I don't want anything between us?" Phoenix said in a husky voice, and I risked a glance. Bad choice. His eyes were dark and his gaze was on my lips, to my chest, then back to my lips. "Eyes up here, buddy." I snapped the third time his eyes went down to my chest. All he did was turn off the lights. When it was dark, he whispered," Can't I admire what is mine?" I had no answer, and turned on my side. He sighed. Despite taking two naps today, I was out cold the minute my head hit my pillow. I could only hope that in the morning, the pillow barrier was still there. ***** Adira has a secret, one she would do anything to protect.
