Born in the early 19th Century as an English commoner, Mildred exists to plough a lone family-less furrow without any explanable reason. Condensed into the shadows of aristocracy, both her only best friend -- Nancy Mcberthane and her reside under the cordial welcome grounds of the Louvelaire estate.  To the critique eyes of the upper class, both Mildred and Nancy are servants but to the Louvelaires - loyal friends. When a member of the Louvelaire family singles Mildred as family, her ears fill with secrets deeper than blade wounds and deadlier if re-told by another. 

Mildred's eyes open to the illusions of alchemy,a course entwined by romance, bloodshed and the devilry. Sucked into a parallel society narrated by Lady Francis, Mildred must wield her sword of rebuked honour and slice through the charming deceit of Clock Town to recover her true memories of her family. In this battle between wit, mind and lost love, will Mildred ever find out who she really was or will her adventure be in vain?
